NCNC Grievance Policy on Potentially Harmful Dogs
Anyone who witnesses a dog appearing potentially harmful at a NCNC event should bring their concerns to the Event Chair. Part of upholding good sportsmanship is to take action through the appropriate channels, not through participating in gossip, in person or on social media, about an incident. If you are a witness to an incident of misconduct at an NCNC event, speak directly with the Event Chair.
The Event Chair shall ask any dog who they believe may cause harm to humans or other dogs to leave the event promptly or be crated for the duration of the event. If the Event Chair expels any dog, the Event Chair must file a report with the NCNC Board. The expelled dog will be suspended from future NCNC events unless the owner submits a written reinstatement request for the dog, and that application is granted in writing by the NCNC Board.
The NCNC has a policy of reciprocity with the AKC, the NCA, and all NCA regional clubs. Dogs who have misbehaved at events recognized by these organizations may also be suspended by the NCNC, and their owners may also apply for reinstatement. The NCNC does not take action on incidents of dog misbehavior at private gatherings.
