My mom and I are Beach Bear Newfoundland breeders and have successfully bred and shown countless Champion and Grand Champion Newfoundlands, as well as very loved working and pet Newfoundlands. I personally groom many of our dogs and have been doing so for years. My family got our first Newfoundland when I was three years old. I have spent my life involved in the breed, went to my first dog show at four years old, and started handling as a 7-year-old. At 12 years old, I surpassed my mom's ability to trim a Newfoundland and took over trimming our dogs. I took any opportunity to observe and learn from anyone I could and continue to pick up different tricks and techniques to make each dog look their best. I love sharing the knowledge I have gathered in the 30 plus years that I've been involved with Newfoundlands. Show trims are not a one size fits all. A poorly trimmed dog can make a fantastic dog look like a poorly bred representation of the breed. Nothing makes me happier than watching the beauty of a good dog be brought out with a proper trim.
