INTERESTED IN WATER WORK?

DID YOU KNOW WATER WORK DOESN'T HAVE TO START IN THE WATER?

COME CHECK OUT THIS FREE INTRO TO WATER WORK EVENT

"GETTING STARTED IN WATER WORK"

SUNDAY, AUGUST 6

10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

WAUKESHA, WI

NCNC is excited to offer a "Getting Started in Water Work" event for anyone interested in exploring water work with their dog.  This session is free of charge, but limited to the first 10 registrants.

The workshop is for HANDLERS & DOGS and will consist of:

  • Discussion and review of the Water Dog (WD) test exercises, which will be held at the NCNC Water Test on Saturday, September 23-Sunday, September 24.
  • Review and explanation of the exercises that will be part of the Beginner Water Test, a non-NCA test, which will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at the NCNC Water Test.
  • Information and demonstration of the role of Stewards in the water test.
  • Land-based exercises and foundational skills that will prepare handlers for exercises in the water.

This is a land training workshop as more than 90% of water exercises can be taught on land and year round!  As exercises are reviewed, dogs will have crate time.  Dogs should be leashed at all times when not in the crate and be well behaved around other dogs and humans.

Event Location: This event will be held in Waukesha, WI at a private residence.  Once your  registration is complete, attendees will receive the address for the event in their confirmation email.

What to Bring: Human food/snacks, lots of high value dog treats, chair, dog crate with adequate ventilation (dogs can not be in cars), water (for humans & dogs), any water training equipment, long line that can be attached to the dog's collar (longer than a 6ft leash).

We welcome NCNC and non-NCNC members and dogs of all breeds.  Questions about the event?  CLICK HERE.

Registration for this event will close on Wednesday, August 3, 2023.
