JOIN US FOR A SNIFFIN' GOOD TIME on June 24th!

The North Central Newfoundland Club is excited to announce a fundraising event in support of the 2023 Water Test.  On Saturday, June 24th, we will be hosting a Sniffy Day, where your dog will be introduced to one or both of two dog sports where your dog uses their amazing scenting ability to search.  These are "noses on the ground" events where your dog will be performing multiple searches.  For both events, you can either sign up as a human/dog team and have your dog participate, or sign up as an auditor and you observe, but you leave your dog at home.

Location: Oh Rats! Dog Training - Sheboygan Falls, WI

9:00 am - 11:00 am     INTRODUCTION TO BARN HUNT 

• Team introductions to the sport in actual barn hunt test environment
• Overview of Novice Barn Hunt rules
• Demonstration of Newf performing Novice Barn Hunt run
• Introduce a rat in a cage to each dog
• Practice having dog scent and indicate on a rat in a tube
• Actual runs, working teams one at a time in a novice ring where they hunt for the rat, climb on straw bales and go through a tunnel built of straw bales
• COST: $30 PER TEAM (1 human, 1 dog)
• COST: $10 PER AUDITING SPOT (1 human only)

• Designed for teams new to scent work
• Overview of rules for various venues
• Demonstration of Newf performing a Novice level search
• Overview of how to get started and equipment involved
• Actual practice time with individual simple searches
• COST: $20 PER TEAM (1 human, 1 dog)
• COST: $7 PER AUDITING SPOT (1 human only)

AKC CGC AND TRICK DOG EVALUATOR BERNADETTE ZIMBRICK-STAHLKOPF WILL BE AVAILABLE TO JUDGE YOUR DOG FOR ANY OF THE AKC TITLES BELOW FOR ONLY $10 PER RUN!

WHAT TO BRING:  LUNCH IF YOU WISH. WATER AND SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED.  PLEASE BRING A CRATE, CHAIR, LEASH, BOWL AND WATER... AND LOTS OF HIGH VALUE TREATS!

9:00 am CDT Saturday, May 27th for all others

REGISTRATION CLOSES ON MONDAY, JUNE 19TH AT 6:00 PM CDT
