    Who is this for?

    New and longtime owners of Newfoundlands who want to know how to take care of their pet's grooming needs at home.


    Topics will include: 

    • How to bathe and blow dry
    • How to brush, line comb and deal with matting and tangles
    • Ear trimming and maintenance
    • Feet and paw trimming and maintenance
    • Recommended products and where to buy

    6 Working Spots available- $65 NCNC Member; $75 Non-Member

    What to bring and what to expect with a Working Spot:

    • All dogs in working spots need to be secured on a grooming table while participating. Participants must bring a grooming table, tools, water bowl and treats. 
    • Kennels on site are available for our use, if dogs want to take a break and rest in kennels.
    • Dogs need to be freshly bathed and thoroughly combed out.
    • Set up from 1:00 - 1:30, clean up from 4:30-5:00.  Instruction will start promptly at 1:30.

      12 Auditing Spots available - $40 NCNC Member; $50 Non-Member

      You don't have a grooming table or grooming tools? Auditing is the answer! Come and learn by watching and go home with recommendations on how to do it yourself.

       "Advanced Skills for a Full Body Groom and Grooming for Conformation Shows with Jessica Chonko"

      Who is this for?  Anyone who would like to learn how to fully groom their dog at home.  For anyone interested in conformation showing, how to groom and prep for a dog show.

      Topics will include: 

      • Determine outline and overall shape
      • Full body trimming: head, chest, feathers, torso, hocks, pants and tail
      • How to deal with a wavy coat
      • How to dry for show purposes
      • How to fluff and get ring ready
      • Recommended products and tools

      What to bring and what to expect for Working Spots:

      North Central Newfoundland Club and NCNC Rescue will have a booth at the 2026 Animal Rescue Expo to be held on Saturday, March 21 from 11-4 at the UW Sports Factory in Rockford, IL. 

      NCNC Members are welcome to attend to serve as a breed ambassador and rescue ambassador and club ambassador to share information about our wonderful breed and allow attendees to meet a small cadre of Newfs.

      We are looking for NCNC Members, with or without their Newfs, to work the following shifts. We are looking for either well-behaved Rescue, Therapy certified or excellent Newf ambassadors to be on hand for each of these shifts.  If you can't bring your Newf, we are also looking for club members to work the table and answer questions that attendees have!  The shifts are below.  Mark which shift you can work on the registration form.

      10:30a - 12:45p

      12:45p - 2:30p

      2:30p - 4:00p

      If you are bringing a Newf, it should be very well-behaved in public and with other dogs.  There will be large crowds and high activity there. Please bring a 4' leash and water for your Newf.  If you are working more than one shift, please bring a crate for down time.  This event won't be suitable for reactive or anxious dogs.

      Bring your Rescue Dog to Newfiepalooza 2026 and walk in our special Rescue Parade! 

      Please make sure to have your pup on a 6 ft leash or shorter.  No retractable leashes.
